Our Store team develops and operates backend services powering the Snap Store and Charmhub.io marketplaces, primarily built in Python, with some Golang.

Upcoming challenges include scaling our architecture, expanding software delivery, and enhancing offerings for IoT and Enterprise solutions.

If you love clean APIs, have a bias for shipping, and believe in automated testing for velocity and reliability, you'll fit right in.

What you'll do

1. Collaborate remotely with a globally distributed team.
2. Write clean web service APIs supporting CLI and web clients using Python (and optionally Golang).
3. Design and implement new features and enhancements from spec to production and ongoing operations at scale.
4. Review code and technical designs by other engineers.
5. Discuss ideas and collaborate on solutions.
6. Work remotely with global travel for 2 to 4 weeks for internal and external events.

Who you are

1. Proficient in developing public-facing APIs and web applications using Python.
2. Broad technology skills, favoring backend code and infrastructure.
3. Experienced with relational and non-relational databases, capable of designing performant data models and tuning queries.
4. Comfortable with Ubuntu as a development and deployment platform.
5. Strong academic background in Computer Science, STEM, or similar.
6. Passionate about technology and working with diverse talented people.
7. Curious, flexible, articulate, and accountable.
8. Valuing soft skills, passionate, enterprising, thoughtful, and self-motivated.
