Role: Software Engineer, Android Core Product – Senior Android Engineer, focused on the Android app and user experience as Speechify continues to grow in popularity on the Play Store.

What You’ll Do
  • Own major features and work closely with design to deliver high-quality features inside the app.
  • Shape the future of our Android team and contribute to product decisions.
  • Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key features.
  • Participate in cross-team discussions (Product, Design, Engineering).
  • Review pull requests and support other teammates.
  • Handle critical issues and unexpected challenges.
  • Take ownership of feature releases and provide nightly builds for QA.
An Ideal Candidate Should Have
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with Android components.
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
  • Product design intuition and user empathy.
  • Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX.
  • Understanding of testing importance and approach to writing tests.
  • Self-drive to improve the app and codebase beyond the spec.
  • Strong experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
  • User-oriented problem solving and openness to feedback from leaders.
Bonus
  • Experience contributing to open source Android projects.
  • Experience with iOS, Web, or Node.js.

Salary

The United States Based salary range for this role is 140,000-200,000 USD/Year + Bonus + Stock, depending on experience.
