Overview

With the growth of our Android app, being the most used text-to-speech app in the Play Store, we seek a Senior Android Engineer to support the growing user base and work on new projects to push us forward. We are a flat organization that values leadership through technical excellence, delivering results consistently and fast, strong work ethic, clear communication, and a focus on winning.

Our team is 100% distributed with no office, and includes frontend and backend engineers, AI researchers, and others from leading tech companies and academic programs. Our interview process involves several technical interviews, typically completed within one week.

What You’ll Do
  • Own major features and work closely with design to deliver high-quality functionality inside the Android app
  • Shape the future of our Android team
  • Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key features
  • Participate in cross-team discussions with Product, Design, and Engineering
  • Review pull requests and support teammates
  • Handle critical issues and respond to unexpected challenges
  • Manage feature releases and provide nightly builds for QA
An Ideal Candidate Should Have
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Familiarity with Android components
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app
  • Product design intuition and user empathy
  • Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX
  • Understanding of testing importance and approach
  • Self-driven to improve the app and codebase beyond the spec
  • Strong experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit
  • User-oriented problem solving and openness to feedback
Bonus
  • Experience contributing to open source Android projects
  • Experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS

Salary

United States-based salary range: 140,000–200,000 USD/year + bonus + stock, dependent on experience
