Overview

As the Android app grows to be the most-used text-to-speech app in the Play Store, we seek a Senior Android Engineer to support the growing user base and contribute to new projects that push the product forward. This role is suited for someone who thinks strategically, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is passionate about delivering delightful user experiences.

What You’ll Do

• Own major features and collaborate with design to deliver high-quality functionality inside the app
• Shape the future of our Android team
• Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key features
• Participate in cross-team discussions (Product, Design, Engineering)
• Review pull requests and support teammates
• Handle critical issues and unexpected challenges
• Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for QA

An Ideal Candidate Should Have

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Familiarity with Android components
• Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app
• Product design intuition and user empathy
• Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX
• Understanding of testing and how to write tests
• Self-drive to improve the app and codebase beyond the spec
• Strong experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit
• User-oriented problem-solving approach
• Ability to receive and act on feedback from leadership

Bonus

• Experience contributing to open-source Android projects
• Experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS

The United States Based Salary range for this role is: 140,000-200,000 USD/year + Bonus + Stock depending on experience
