Job summary

Yext in New York City is seeking software engineers to build and evolve our Knowledge Graph infrastructure, APIs, and data workflows. You will contribute from day one, collaborating with engineers across teams in an agile environment.

This role emphasizes scalable systems, data modeling, AI-assisted development, and ownership of code quality and security. Candidates should have CS degree and 1+ year experience, with Java/C++/Python proficiency.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent college-level education.
• 1+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Fluency with Java, C++, Python, or a similar programming language (we code primarily in Java and Go).
• Openness to new technologies, new ways of working, and creative solutions.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to evaluate technical solutions critically, including AI-produced code and recommendations.
• Experience using or willingness to learn AI-assisted development tools in a responsible workflow.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and ongoing operation.
• Contribute to the design, implementation, and deployment of highly scalable and reliable systems.
• Develop storage systems, libraries, and frameworks.
• Proactively contribute ideas for new features and identify opportunities to improve our products, systems, and engineering practices.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across engineering and with partners throughout the company.
• Write clean, tested, and well-documented code.
• Use AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully to accelerate engineering work, explore solutions, improve code quality, and reduce repetitive tasks.
• Critically evaluate, test, and validate AI-generated output rather than treating it as inherently correct.
• Maintain ownership of all work produced with AI assistance, including its correctness, security, maintainability, and alignment with our engineering standards.
