Job Summary
The team at Advanced Space is leading humanity back to the Moon and pioneering innovative solutions in the space industry. This team is seeking a Software Engineer with 5‑8 years of experience, who will be responsible for developing ground and flight software for missions to the Moon and beyond. The role will be based in Westminster, Colorado.
Responsibilities
- Handle a broad range of tasks, from bug fixes to feature development.
- Design and debug components, possibly requiring collaboration for more complex system design.
- Contribute to architectural discussions/decisions.
- Mentor junior engineers on effective coding techniques.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot basic issues.
- Basic understanding of container management (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Apply design patterns and translate requirements/architecture into well‑structured code.
- Identify opportunities for software reuse and work toward cohesive implementation across modules.
- Contribute to higher‑level design and architectural decisions.
- Assess pros/cons of various lifecycle models and apply them to projects or sub‑projects.
- Lead sprint planning for small teams or components.
- Tailor processes to fit project size and complexity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional work experience).
- 5‑8 years of experience with spacecraft software systems, system architecture, and/or mission control systems.
- 5‑8 years of experience developing software applications with a modern programming language, preferably C++ or Python.
- Manage components of projects independently while providing light mentoring of newcomers.
- Demonstrate effective prioritization and decision‑making within the immediate scope.
- Mentor others in adopting new technologies and methodologies.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary Range – $114,000 – $132,235 (based on role, experience, and location)

Eligibility Requirements
