Job summary

Advanced Space in Westminster, CO is seeking a Sr. Project Manager with 8-12 years of aerospace program experience to coordinate engineering, operations, business development and leadership on complex programs.

You will manage schedules, risk, IMS, and communication, develop basis-of-estimate, and ensure successful execution while fostering collaboration and customer focus. U.S. citizenship and Top Secret clearance required.

Based in Westminster, Colorado, this team is looking to add a highly motivated and passionate Sr. Project Manager with 8-12 years of experience. You would be responsible for facilitating coordination between engineering, operations, business development, and leadership teams on complex project challenges and solutions. This role involves leading essential components of project execution, including schedule management, risk oversight, and stakeholder communication, ensuring that critical programmatic tasks are executed reliably.

Responsibilities:

  • Shapes programmatic and technical approach for complex projects, balancing performance, cost, schedule, and risk.
  • Establishes strong, collaborative relationship with customers and suppliers.
  • Contributes to risk management frameworks for complex, multi-phase progjects with diverse technical and programmatic risk profiles.
  • Shapes integration and test strategies for complex projects, balancing test coverage, schedule, cost, and risk acceptance.
  • Develops and defends basis-of-estimate (BOE) documentation for customer and internal review.
  • Contributes to configuration management frameworks for multi-phase, multi-partner projects with complex interface and deliverable structures.
  • Authors white papers, technical memos, and position papers that influence customer or partner decisions.
  • Ensures lessons learned are captured and inform future project planning.
  • Calibrates project metrics against historical baselines and industry benchmarks.
  • Manages software intellectual property, licensing, and deliverable rights in contracts and agreements.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Project Management or related technical degree (e.g., Aerospace Engineering) or related Master's Degree Preferred.
  • 8-12 yrs of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and understanding of program management principles, concepts, and best practices; PMP certification is desired.
  • Direct experience with aerospace space systems development, including intergration and test, with emphasis on space and ground segments preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in creating Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for all project phases of the business cycle from proposals to project execution using tools such as Jira and MS Project.Understanding of basic contracting principles (contract types, contract strategy, contract clauses, IP considerations, etc.)
  • Understanding of the Defense Acquisition Framework, DoD/ Federal requirements process, and FAR based contracting is desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with demanding customers, difficult schedules, and technically challenging projects.
  • Must be able to develop solutions to problems that require coordination of multiple diverse inputs from stakeholders to meet project requirements.
  • Ability to act autonomously and navigate the big picture as well as technical, budget, and schedule issues at the detail level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Excellent presentation development and delivery skills.
  • Thorough understanding of change control processes to control, monitor and resolve internal and external changes to projects.
  • Customer focused, relentlessly seeking the best most innovation solutions for our customers with an emphasis on meeting defined scope and objectives.

  • Ability to work in the Westminster, CO office 5 days/week during core business hours.

Compensation and benefits:

  • Base salary range - $140,000 - $178,000 based on role and employee experience.
  • Signing bonus.
