About the Role
Seeking a senior Software Engineer 3 Tester with strong C++ and automated testing expertise to support complex, high-throughput software and test environments in Annapolis Junction, MD.
In this role, you will lead software test development, build automation, and continuous integration efforts across advanced test infrastructure. You will design, develop, and execute automated test suites for C++ software systems, modernize CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing, and evaluate hardware/software interactions—including Software Defined Radios (SDRs) and enterprise server environments—to ensure software components strictly adhere to critical performance, timing, and interface specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Architect, develop, and execute comprehensive automated testing suites and frameworks for complex C++ applications.
Modernize and maintain CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated build processes and continuous testing workflows.
Write robust test automation scripts and utilities using Python and Shell scripting.
Validate software interfaces and integration points against physical test infrastructure, including Software Defined Radios (SDRs) and lab server environments.
Analyze user and system requirements to derive detailed software design and performance testing criteria.
Debug existing software codebases, isolate root causes of defects, and implement effective remediations.
Serve as a technical lead across software development and test teams, overseeing quality control, code reviews, and testing standards.
Confer with systems and hardware engineers to assess hardware/software trade-offs, interface constraints, and operational limitations.
Author and review comprehensive test procedures, test outcome reports, and software design documentation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with a current Polygraph.
Experience & Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution plus at least 15 years of software engineering experience on programs/contracts of similar scope and complexity, OR
19 years of relevant software engineering experience without a degree (4 additional years substituting for the degree).
Core Languages & Scripting: Strong hands‑on proficiency in C++, complemented by Python and Shell scripting capabilities.
Test Engineering & DevOps: Demonstrated experience in CI/CD pipeline modernization and implementing automated continuous testing frameworks.
Hardware & Infrastructure: Familiarity with test infrastructure hardware, including Software Defined Radios (SDRs) and enterprise test servers.
Leadership & QA: Proven ability to lead software test efforts, establish software development process standards, and conduct quality assurance across multi‑functional engineering teams.
