Job summary

Captivation Software is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer 2 to design, develop, and maintain Linux-based HPC infrastructure software and services. You will implement automation, security, and deployment tooling to support mission-critical systems in a Linux environment.

The role requires expertise in Bash, Python, and modern DevOps tools, with hands-on experience in HashiCorp Vault, Docker/Podman, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field with 3+ years SWE experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years SWE experience in similar scope.
• 7 years of SWE experience in similar programs/contracts.

Description

Captivation Software is looking for a mid level software engineer who shall be responsible for developing and maintaining system management infrastructure software and services for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a Linux environment.

Requirements

Security Clearance:

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Required Skills:

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools
• Experience developing Bash scripts to automate manual processes
• Familiar with Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools such as Netbox
• Experience with Secret Management tools such as HashiCorp Vault
• Familiar with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions such as Keycloak
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, PodMan, containers
• Experience with automation frameworks including Ansible for orchestrating deployment
• Familiar with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins
• Experience with Git Source Control System

Desired Skills:

• Familiar with Observability and Analytics platform solutions such as Splunk
• Familiar with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)

• Annual Salary: $130,000 - $270,000 (Depends on the Years of Experience)
