Qualifications

• 2–4 years of relevant software engineering experience with a technical bachelor's degree.

• Experience writing technical requirements and user stories.
• Software testing experience.
• Program or project management/coordination experience.
• Experience writing, implementing, or using REST APIs.
• Ability to use Microsoft DevOps/Azure DevOps.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Strong teamwork and communication; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Create technical requirements and user stories for new software and system integrations using DevOps.
• Coordinate and perform testing of APIs used to integrate external vendor platforms with internal systems supporting 5G eSIM management.
• Review and understand vendor APIs and determine which APIs should be implemented.
• Schedule and conduct integration test sessions with external vendors and internal engineering teams.
• Define processes to leverage new eSIM technology and enable new functionality for customers.
• Track development and integration progress in DevOps and participate in status meetings.
• Research and resolve technical questions while coordinating across teams.
• Help streamline telecom and connectivity operations through new vendor integrations.

Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Software Engineer 2 in Mossville, IL. The work will be done onsite full time, with an approximate schedule of 7:00 AM-3:00 PM Central Time. This is a 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is $64/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).

Job Summary

The Software Engineer 2 will support the development and integration of connectivity solutions focused on 5G eSIM management and telecom systems. This position will create technical requirements and user stories, coordinate internal development, and perform API integration testing with external vendors and internal engineering teams. The engineer will work closely with telecom, systems, onboard software, backend systems, and dealer-system teams to automate activities, commands, and status information between connected systems. The ideal candidate combines REST API and software testing experience with strong program coordination, organization, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Create technical requirements and user stories for new software and system integrations using DevOps.
• Coordinate and perform testing of APIs used to integrate external vendor platforms with internal systems supporting 5G eSIM management.
• Review and understand vendor APIs and work with Telecom, Systems, and other engineering teams to determine which APIs should be implemented.
• Schedule and conduct integration test sessions with external vendors and internal engineering teams.
• Define processes that effectively leverage new eSIM technology capabilities and enable new functionality for customers.
• Track development and integration progress in DevOps and participate in project status meetings.
• Research and resolve technical questions while coordinating across internal development teams and external vendors.

Required Qualifications

• 2-4 years of relevant experience with a technical bachelor's degree.
• Candidates with a 2-year technical degree and 6 years of relevant experience may also be considered.
• Experience writing technical requirements and user stories.
• Software testing experience.
• Program or project management/coordination experience.
• Experience writing, implementing, or using REST APIs.
• Ability to use Microsoft DevOps/Azure DevOps for requirements, user stories, and progress tracking.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, development, testing, and delivery.
• Strong teamwork, collaboration, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate effectively with internal and external engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the Comprion test system.
• Experience with telecom, cellular connectivity, IoT, connected devices, or eSIM technologies.
• Experience coordinating API integrations between internal systems and external vendor platforms.
• Experience working with distributed or global engineering teams.
• Background as a Validation Engineer or Test Engineer may provide relevant transferable experience.
