Job summary

Dell Technologies is seeking an AI-Native Software Engineer as part of the IT Development Program (ITDP) to rotate across high-priority teams and build intelligent solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. Recent graduates will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product leaders to apply Generative AI, copilots, and RAG to real-world problems.

Throughout the program, you’ll rotate for two one-year periods before settling into a final role after graduation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, AI, or ML is required.
• Foundation in software engineering principles: OOP, data structures, algorithms, testing, system design.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C++.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI, LLMs, AI assistants, agents, prompt engineering, or RAG.

Responsibilities

IT Development Program (ITDP) - AI-Native Software Engineer

Dell IT is looking for a new kind of campus hire: AI-Native Engineers ready to make an accelerated impact from day one. As part of the IT Development Program (ITDP), you’ll rotate across high-priority teams, partnering with experienced engineers, architects, data scientists, and product leaders to build intelligent solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. We are seeking recent graduates who combine strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience applying Generative AI technologies such as copilots, AI agents, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to solve real-world problems.

What you’ll achieve

As a part of the IT Development Program, you’ll experience rotations during your first two years in Dell IT. This rotation program is designed to provide broad exposure across different technology teams while helping you build the skills needed for a successful long-term career.

During the program, you will complete two one-year rotations before being placed in your final role upon graduation from the program.

Depending on business needs, your day-to-day role may include

• Develop and deploy AI-powered applications, assistants, agents, and intelligent workflows
• Build scalable software solutions using cloud-native architectures and modern engineering practices

• Contribute to Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, and automation solutions that improve business productivity

Essential Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or Machine Learning
• Foundation in software engineering principles, including object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, testing, and system design
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C++
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying AI-powered applications, including work with generative AI, LLMs, AI assistants, agents, prompt engineering, or RAG solutions
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, communicate effectively, collaborate across teams, and deliver measurable results with accountability

Compensation

• Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary for this position is $89,520 USD annually
