Job summary

Captivation Software is seeking a mid-level software engineer for back-end development and DevOps engineering. You will design, build, and maintain microservices with Spring Boot and Java, and deploy RESTful APIs on AWS, while advancing CI/CD pipelines.

Required: Top Secret/SCI clearance with favorable polygraph, U.S. citizenship, and either seven years as an SWE or four years of SWE with suitable project experience and degree in CS or related field.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years experience as an SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university; or four (4) years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for a bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain microservices using Spring Boot and Java.
• Build and manage RESTful APIs and backend services deployed on AWS (e.g., ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3).
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with DevOps, frontend, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems using tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, or ELK.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
