Job summary

Jobtailor in Washington, DC is seeking a software engineer to develop high-quality software and collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to deliver scalable web applications that meet customer needs.

You will review and debug code, apply best practices, and help enforce design standards while researching, prototyping, and recommending software solutions. The role rewards curiosity, teamwork, and the drive to solve large, complex problems for clients.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of professional software developer experience.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and AI tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, especially React.
• Experience developing web apps with Rails, Django, or NodeJS.
• Experience developing web apps with ReactJS, AngularJS and/or VueJS.
• Comfort with SQL databases.
• Strong problem-solving and eagerness to learn and teach others.
• Passion for solving large, complex problems for customers.

• Experience developing web applications with frameworks such as Rails, Django or NodeJS
• Experience developing web applications with ReactJS, AngularJS and/or VueJS
• Comfort working with SQL databases
