Job summary

Zions Bank in Utah is seeking a Senior Software Engineer---API to join the Digital Treasury Engineering & Support team. You will develop APIs to meet customer data needs and work on a cross-functional agile team delivering master data management capabilities.

You will collaborate with the API Solutions Architect and ACE/APIGEE teams, contribute to documentation, build pipelines, and help ensure secure, scalable integrations across legacy and modern systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 4+ years in API development or platform customization.
• Experience building APIs/webservices on ESB and API management platforms (ACE, Apigee).
• Familiarity with APIGEE and API orchestration platforms.
• Proficient in Spring Boot Rest API, Java, Python, JavaScript, and REST/SOAP/XML data formats.
• Knowledge of OAuth, JWT, JWE, HMAC and API security policies.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, Git, Azure DevOps, and container tech.
• Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Zions is recruiting for the position of Senior Software Engineer---API on the Digital Treasury Engineering & Support team. The Digital Treasury Engineering & Support team creates value for Treasury customers by delivering enterprise data and integration services that provide data, functionality, and processes from legacy and modern systems for others to consume. We expose diverse systems and business capabilities in a standardized way. Zions is headquartered in Salt Lake City, UT. Below are some of the responsibilities of an Integration Platform Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Develop APIs to meet the organization's needs for customer data.
• Work on a cross-functional agile team to deliver customer master data management capabilities to the organization.
• Works closely with the API Solutions Architect and ACE development and support staff, as a major contributor to the success of the system.
• Assist in developing user documentation, specifications, and departmental policies and procedures that impact the use of APIs, Swagger, WSDL, and XSD.
• Automate and set up build pipelines and deployments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Data Science or related field, and a minimum of 4 years' experience administering and developing customization of platforms, or other directly related experience. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements; the successful candidate will have an ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements and circumstances.
• Experience with development of APIs / webservices on ESB and API management platforms. IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) and Apigee Edge platforms a plus.
• Working on APIGEE platform or any other API orchestration platform
• Worked on Spring Boot Rest API , Handlers , Interceptor and API authentication
• Working knowledge of REST, JSON, SOAP, XML, Python, Java, JavaScript, XSLT, API security policies (OAuth, JWT, JWE, and HMAC), and relational databases.
• Knowledge of software engineering practices and programming languages. Familiarity with Java, SQL, Python, JavaScript.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, build/deploy automation, Git, Azure DevOps and Digital.ai Release / Digital.ai Deploy preferred. Experience with containers is a plus.
• Requires strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Requires solid interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both management and staff employees.
• Ability to elicit, gather and analyze user and business requirements.

Location

This position has a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
