Job description

CORMAC is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in building and optimizing reporting solutions, working with large datasets, and ensuring data accuracy and efficiency. You will collaborate with various business units to design, develop, and maintain custom reporting tools that provide valuable insights and decision-making support to the organization. Your work will help enhance the visibility and performance of key business operations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and ensure that reports meet their needs. Analyze data sources and define appropriate methods for data extraction and transformation.
  2. Develop and maintain reports using NodeJS/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and SQL.
  3. Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to retrieve and manipulate data from relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle).
  4. Monitor and optimize report performance, focusing on query efficiency, report load times, and scalability with growing data volumes.
  5. Integrate reports with internal and external data sources, ensuring seamless data flow while maintaining data integrity and security.
  6. Perform testing and validation of reports to ensure data accuracy and proper presentation.
  7. Implement automated reporting and scheduling for timely distribution.
  8. Document report design specifications, data definitions, and processes for future reference and training.
  9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data engineers, and product teams, to meet reporting needs.
  10. Provide troubleshooting support for report-related issues, including data discrepancies and performance bottlenecks.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in software or report development, with strong database skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with data modeling and architecture.
  • Experience with large-scale databases and big data environments.
  • Knowledge of agile practices and tools (e.g., JIRA, Git).
