SumerSports is a leading football intelligence technology company that specializes in providing an innovative suite of products for football fans and NFL clubs. We are a collection of executives, engineers, data scientists, and visionaries from NFL clubs, technology startups, finance, and academia.

Our data-driven platform empowers teams with insights and tools to make informed decisions within salary cap constraints. The platform also serves the NCAA, offering insights around the transfer portal and more.

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to help build and scale our consumer-facing applications. If you are passionate about sports, data-driven experiences, and high performance web applications, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain web applications using React and TypeScript
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and data & ML engineers to deliver high quality user experiences
  • Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and accessibility
  • Contribute to backend services and APIs when needed, working with Node.js, Python, or
    other backend technologies
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and agile development processes
  • Stay up to date with the latest web technologies, tools, and best practices

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in frontend development with React and TypeScript
  • Strong understanding of server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and
    caching
  • Familiarity with backend technologies, databases, and API design (e.g., Node.js, Python,
    PostgreSQL, GraphQL, or REST APIs)
  • Experience with performance optimization, security best practices, and accessibility (a11y)
    principles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing requirements, and deliver
    high-quality software
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Our teams have complete ownership of their systems including building, running and monitoring. As such, you may be required to be on-call and respond to systems alerts should they arise.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with cloud platforms and technologies such as AWS and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Background in sports analytics, fantasy sports, or related fields
  • Knowledge of data visualization libraries such as D3.js or Recharts
