SR2 is seeking a Software Engineer to build modern applications that run alongside real industrial machinery and real-time data streams. You will develop intuitive UIs with React/TypeScript and robust back-end services, collaborating with a small team in an employee-owned environment.
The role focuses on modern software for industrial equipment, including HMI improvements, edge/on-premise solutions, and integration with PLCs.
Ever wanted to build software that does more than sit in the cloud?
I'm working with an established, employee-owned engineering and manufacturing business that's investing in modernizing the software behind its industrial machinery.
They're looking for a Software Engineer who enjoys building modern applications but also understands how software interacts with physical equipment, real-time data and industrial systems.
This isn't a traditional PLC or controls engineering position.
The focus is on modern software engineering, intuitive user interfaces and building reliable applications that operate alongside real machinery.
You'll join a small engineering team working on the next generation of software for industrial manufacturing equipment.
A major focus is modernizing existing HMI/operator interfaces, replacing outdated approaches with intuitive, modern applications that make complex machinery easier to operate.
You also contribute to a preventative-maintenance and machine-monitoring platform, helping customers better understand equipment performance, identify issues and improve reliability.
The software needs to work in real-world production environments, where reliability matters and downtime has genuine consequences.
You'll ideally have:
You don't need to have worked with every technology listed.
We're particularly interested in software engineers who've worked around industrial systems, rather than traditional controls engineers who have only occasionally written application code.
If you've built software for robotics, manufacturing, automation, IoT or other hardware-connected environments — and enjoy modern React/TypeScript development — I'd be particularly interested in speaking.
