Role Summary

As a senior backend engineer, you’ll drive the design and implementation of mission-critical software to solve challenging problems in public safety. Bring your builder mindset to develop the core services, api’s, and data pipelines that make Beakon’s service the new industry standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Hands-on development

  • Build and ship core features, writing clean, efficient, and well-tested code.

• Technical leadership

  • Make key technology decisions and establish best practices for development and deployment.

• System reliability and security

  • Design resilient, fault-tolerant systems that can handle mission-critical workloads.

  • Implement best-in-class security practices to protect sensitive data and infrastructure.

Challenges

• Develop a real-time targeting engine that computes the impact of thousands of threats each day against hundreds of thousands of customer assets.

• Develop real-time data pipelines that mine for threat signals from hundreds of input sources.

• Develop an in-house no-code engine that allows the ingestion of structured feeds regardless of format.

• Gain exposure and develop your proficiency in AI-based solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years experience in backend or full-stack development

• Fluency in one or more modern languages, such as Python or JavaScript

• Fluency in cloud provider platforms

Preferred Skills

• Experience at an early stage startup or as an early engineer on a major project
