Job summary

Job description

• Build and maintain features in internal applications, from the Vue screens through the C# API to the SQL Server schema behind them.
• Maintain and extend the AutoCAD plugin that generates part geometry, drawings, and bills of material.
• Add new parts and assemblies to the plugin as the product line grows and keep the geometry it produces correct as engineering standards change.
• Keep the configuration side and the CAD side in agreement, so that what an engineer specifies is what the shop receives.
• Debug to root cause. Identify the specific code or data responsible for a defect and correct it there.
• Write down the domain rules you uncover, so the next person does not have to rediscover them from the geometry.

REQUIRED

• Four or more years writing and maintaining production software in C#, including work against a relational database.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and its customization. Automating AutoCAD is a core part of this role rather than an occasional task, whether your experience is with the .NET API, ObjectARX, LISP, or another route into it.
• Solid SQL: you can read an execution plan, write efficient queries against sizable tables, and reason about a schema you did not design.
• Comfort with geometry and coordinate math: transforms, rotations, and the difference between local and world space.
• The patience for a large existing codebase, and the judgment to change it carefully.

HELPFUL, NOT REQUIRED

• Manufacturing, fabrication, or structural engineering background.
• Three.js, WebGL, or 3D file formats such as GLB and STEP.
• .NET Framework maintenance experience, including MSBuild and IIS.
