Job summary

Northrop Grumman UK is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in London with a hybrid work arrangement. You will design, develop and maintain critical infrastructure, lead teams through technical and delivery challenges, and ensure security clearance can be obtained and maintained.

The role requires hands-on development across backend (Java Spring Boot, Maven, Python) and frontend (JS/TS, React). You will work with CICD, containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS), with DB knowledge

Qualifications

• Experience as a Software Engineer in backend and frontend environments.
• Familiarity with CICD, containerisation and cloud platforms.
• Strong communication, collaboration and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on development and contribute to the code base, including peer review of code.
• Design software features to realise the product roadmap and explain design choices.
• Break down large work into well-defined tasks in an Agile manner.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Demonstrate development work to internal and external customers.

We are looking for:

• Experience as a Software Engineer in one of:
• Backend development and it’s ecosystem (Java Spring boot, Maven, Python)
• Frontend development and it’s ecosystem (JS/TS, React, Npm)
• Familiarity with CICD, containerisation, deployment technologies & cloud platforms (Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS)
• Understanding of database technologies such as SQL, Elasticsearch or MongoDB
• Strong communication, collaboration & problem solving skills, ideally with some experience in agile ways of working
• Security clearance: You must be able to gain and maintain the highest level of UK Government clearance
