Archer, an aerospace company in San Jose, CA, is building an all-electric four-passenger aircraft and the software that runs its airline operations. We are hiring 0 to 1 Software Engineers across Full-Stack, Back-End, or Front-End, Web and Mobile.

In a startup-lean environment, you’ll own features end-to-end, shape architecture, and collaborate with design, data science, and aviation experts to power Archer’s LA2028 operations.

Qualifications

• Requires 4-year engineering degree or demonstrated outstanding technical achievement.
• Experience owning products end-to-end: frontend to backend to cloud deployment.
• Strong portfolio: Github or open-source contributions.
• Knowledge of Next.JS, JavaScript, React, Python, and PostgreSQL.
• Ability to design intuitive, scalable software without a formal design system.

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

What You’ll Do:

We are looking for 0 to 1 Software Engineers to join an elite team that is building out Archer’s Airline Operations Software Ecosystem. All experience levels and specialities (Full-Stack, Back-End, or Front-End, Web, and Mobile) are encouraged to apply.

Archer is on a mission to not only unlock the skies with our aircraft Midnight, but with the entire software fabric that goes into running a large, sophisticated airline operation. This role enables you to be one of a few people to craft the future of urban air mobility by the building agentic software that powers it. The products you will be building in this role will be integral for Archer’s LA2028 Olympics operation and to support the logistics, routing, performance, and dispatch of our aircraft for decades to come.

Archer’s Airline Software team operates with Startup DNA and as such, we are looking for engineers who thrive in an autonomous environment where you will be encouraged to make product, design, and architecture decisions. The Airline Software Team is by design lean to provide engineers with career defining opportunities to design and scale an application that will touch millions of passengers a year.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to the following.

• Build Great Software: Take product requirements and turn them into beautiful, reliable, and high quality web and mobile applications
• Product Development: Lead end-to-end technical execution and receive full ownership of the software development lifecycle
• System Architecture: Design and implement the architecture and tech stack that will serve as the backbone for our platform while balancing scalability, speed, and reliability
• Contribute to the Roadmap: Ideate, plan, and prototype technical tools for aircraft performance and dispatch settings
• Work Cross-Functionally: Work with design, data science, and technical aviation experts to supercharge the features and products you are working on
• Knowledge of Code-Generation: Use the latest code-generation technologies to streamline your workflow and achieve breakthrough productivity
• AI-Native Product Building: Implement and productize novel machine learning and deep learning algorithms developed by our AI/ML research team

What You Need:

• 4-Year College Degree in an Engineering Discipline (or multiple pieces of evidence of outstanding individual technical achievement)
• Evidence of End-End Product Ownership: Experience building all parts of software from front-end to back-end to cloud deployment
• Personal Projects: Rich Github history with examples of personal projects that can be shared with the hiring team and/or open-source contributions
• Technologies: Next.JS, Java Script, React, React Native, Python, PostGres
• Design: Ability to create intuitive, clean, and professional products without a dedicated designer or design system
• AI: Strong understanding of how to implement and train AI systems into SaaS products and willingness to learn and adapt to building voice agent
• Infrastructure: Familiarity with building serverless & micro-service in popular cloud hyperscalers andManaging production grade CI/CD pipelines
• Adaptability: Quickly and iteratively respond to needs of customers and turn product changes around on tight timelines

Experience Level:

• Open to New Graduate, Junior, and Senior candidates
• Demonstrated hands-on experience through projects, internships, or professional work is valued over years of tenure

Bonus Qualifications:

• Strong passion for aviation and/or UAM
• Willingness and ability to transition between mobile and web development
• Previous experience working in and around logistics, transportation and/or aviation related companies
• Ex-Founder or have worked at an early-stage startup
• Experience working on complex systems of records like EHRs, ERPs, PMS, CMS, CRMs, and others
• Passion for Design
