Job summary

An innovative AI and robotics company in San Francisco is seeking a Software Engineer to develop a product that enables scientists to interact with lab robots. We’ve worked on engineering synthetic organisms and electric race cars at Caltech, worked on generalized cooking robots, and have developed lab automation systems at academic and industry labs. • Tetsuwan has raised a $2.7M oversubscribed round to support a technical timeline that has already seen its first deployment (to a rare disease gene therapeutics lab) and will see several more within the next year.

About The Role:

You will work alongside a small team to build, test, break, and rebuild a product that allows scientists to interface seamlessly with lab robots. You will help on the front and the back end to deliver the best user experience. You will have to learn a lot quickly, fail a lot, and succeed a lot. You will go out in the field and see how customers interact with your product in their labs, and you will watch the output of your code running on robots and doing cutting-edge science. And most importantly, you will see your work massively contribute to the efforts of a team working at the forefront of the autonomous discovery space.

Required:

• Be in-person, for a full-time role in San Francisco, California
• Have a high-sense of autonomy and ability to rapidly iterate and learn
• Be proficient in both Python and Typescript

Nice to Have:

• The following skills, from most important to least important: React, Next, Docker, GCP, CI/CD pipelines
• 3+ years of experience
• Previously worked at a start-up
• An interest in the life sciences and robotics.
