Job summary

Juicebox is hiring a software engineer to help shape the product by building features end-to-end, often leveraging LLMs. You will work with the founders on ranking, filters, and data sources to improve search quality and user delight.

Strong ownership, fast iteration, and a track record of delivering shipped features are expected. We use Next.js + React, Node.js, OpenSearch, AWS SQS, Spark, and AI providers.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping features end-to-end in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to design scalable web architectures and data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of modern web technologies and AI-enabled search systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship product features end-to-end, often on LLMs.
• Optimize ranking of profile results and add new filters/data sources.
• Delight users in the first minutes of signup and improve onboarding.

About The Role

As a software engineer you'll play a key role in engineering decisions, working closely with the founders and focus on questions like:

• How can we optimize the ranking of our profile results?
• What new filters or data sources can we add to our search engine?
• How can we delight our users in the first 5 minutes of signing up to Juicebox?

You will design, build, and ship product features from end to end - many of which will be built on LLMs.

Recent projects have included fine-tuning a model to extract relevant insights from profiles and building feedback loops for improving search queries.

We work with Next.js + React, Node.js, OpenSearch (Elasticsearch), AWS SQS, Spark, and a number of inference providers + LLMs, etc.

• You've built something from scratch - a startup, project, or feature.
• You enjoy working hard and owning projects.
• You are hands-on, move fast, and learn best by building.
• You've shown excellence: be it in your education, work experiences, projects, or anything else you can share.
• You take asymmetric bets.
• You have some experience with the core of our stack: Next.js, AWS, etc.
