Job summary

Confluence is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer in Pittsburgh to modernise a market-leading platform and embed AI capabilities into production. You will build .NET / C# services for a large product ecosystem, integrating large language models and agent-based workflows into live products.

You will work in a hybrid Pittsburgh office, collaborate across teams, and apply your knowledge of REST APIs, SOA, design patterns, and React.

Qualifications

• Strong .NET / C# development experience
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and service-oriented architecture
• Solid understanding of software design patterns and scalable architecture
• Experience in agile development environments
• Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery
• Working knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks such as React
• Familiarity with modern DevOps and CI/CD practices
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams
• Self-starter, quick learner comfortable tackling new problems
• Approximately 2+ years’ professional software engineering experience and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent

About the role & team

This role involves building .NET / C# services for a large, evolving product ecosystem. Your work will focus on integrating large language models and agent‑based workflows into real products rather than legacy maintenance.

Required Experience

• Strong .NET / C# development experience – the core of the role.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and service‑oriented architecture.
• Solid understanding of software design patterns and scalable architecture.
• Experience working in agile development environments.
• Demonstrated use of AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., LLMs and coding assistants) to accelerate delivery and improve quality, with the ability to discuss real‑world applications.
• Working knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks such as React.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams.
• Self‑starter, quick learner comfortable tackling new problems.
• Approximately 2+ years’ professional software engineering experience and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Exposure to cloud platforms, ideally Azure.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and broader DevOps knowledge.

Location & Travel

This is a Pittsburgh‑based hybrid role. Day‑to‑day travel is minimal – the main expectation is to come into our Pittsburgh office at least once a month to collaborate with the team.
