Stack AV is seeking a Software Engineer to design innovative software solutions in the autonomous vehicle space. The role involves writing detailed software design documents, collaborating across departments, and maintaining software performance. Job Description:Designing and participating in the design of software tooling in order to meet the needs ofusers and company goals. Write detailed software design documents that describe the proposed softwaredesign, facilitate alignment across cross-functional teams, and propose an implementation plan.Maintaining and supporting current and new software systems in order to correct errors and in order tomaintain or increase performance of the software systems. Monitoring existing systems and track issuesand fixes from discovery to implementation. Working with stakeholders in order to perform requirementsanalysis, assessing the feasibility of them given cost and time constraints. Implementing softwaresolutions to meet the requirements defined for a software project, using technologies and programminglanguages such as but not limited to Typescript, Golang, C++, React, PostgreSQL, Linux, and AWS.Documenting and updating documentation of software systems. Work closely with a User ExperienceDesigner on negotiating the feasibility of a UI design concept. Provide inputs and influence on the UIdesign process. Present technical designs to senior engineers and user stakeholders. Domestic travelrequired, 25%. Telecommuting permissible from any location within US.
Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, ElectricalEngineering or related field and one (1) year of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,Robotics in the autonomous vehicle space or related field.
Skills: Experience and/or education must include:
1. Golang and gRPC to develop scalable and highly available microservices.
2. Typescript, HTML, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and React to develop web application userinterfaces.
3. Source control (GitHub) and continuous integration technologies (GitHub Actions) to ensurecode is safely revisioned and released.
4. Docker, Kubernentes, and AWS technologies to perform highly available and highly scalablesoftware deployments.
5. Analyze problems and decide whether a SQL based technology (PostgreSQL) or a NoSQL basedtechnology (Redis) is applicable for the problem being solved.
6. Apply and understand tradeoffs between different data structure and algorithms to ensuresoftware scales to the company’s needs.
7. Translate UI designs from a tool such as Figma to functional requirements for implementation.
8. Read server logs using technologies such as Loki to debug and root cause production issues.
9. Grafana visualizations or other performance tools to understand the performance of applicationsand to identify shortcomings.
10. Slack, JIRA, and Zoom to communicate with other team members and stakeholders.
11. GitHub to provide code reviews to other team members.
Salary:$123,750 - $198,000 /year. 40 hours/week
