PSI Services is seeking a Software Engineer in Olathe, KS for a hybrid role. You will develop features of Java/Spring web applications with an SQL database and integrate with internal and third-party systems.
In this full-time position, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams in an AGILE environment, participate in all SDLC phases, and emphasize quality through unit testing and documentation. Occasional travel may be required.

The Software Engineer role at PSI enables the development of new features of the technologies that we provide to our customers. Software Engineers work very closely with others across the engineering teams to understand what has been scoped, develop new features of existing Java/Spring web-based applications with an SQL database, and integrate with internal and third-party systems. This role adds significant value to the operation of PSI’s business, performing crucial work in maintaining our people-focused, quality brand.
This is a full-time permanent role, with flexible hours around core office availability Monday to Friday. The role is performed on a hybrid schedule at our headquarters located at 18000 W 105th St. Olathe, KS 66061, with occasional travel for meetings, events and workshops.
Develop enterprise class and scalable web applications.
Enhance and support existing web application functionality which includes new feature development and resolving complex code issues as reported.
Collaborate with subject matter experts, product managers and engineers to build modern, scalable, user-friendly, and functionally robust web applications in an AGILE environment.
Participate in all aspects of SDLC including analysis, requirements, design, implementation, testing and support.
Ensure quality through strong unit testing.
Review and analyze feature requirements.
Create and maintain product knowledge documentation.
Research and embrace new techniques and technologies.
Use principles, guidelines and best practices as defined.
Other duties as assigned.
US citizenship required due to affiliation with government contracts.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
3+ years experience in software engineering roles.
Hands-on experience with modern software development languages and front-end technologies, e.g. C#, Java, Go, JavaScript, Node.js, Spring Boot, Thymeleaf, Spring MVC, React, Angular, CSS, HTML, etc.
Experience with designing and creating APIs.
Experience with microservices architecture.
Experience with cloud technologies in Azure or AWS.
Experience with ORM technologies such as Hibernate.
Experience with relational databases like MSSQL.
Experience with GIT and JIRA.
Experience with accessibility work such as WCAG is a plus.
