Job summary

PlanIT Group in the United States is seeking a Software Integration Engineer Sr to drive the full lifecycle from design to integration across aerospace-grade environments.

You will develop across platforms, own CI/CD pipelines, and champion automated labs and workflows, collaborating with engineers, scientists, and customers to deliver robust software solutions. This role requires 4+ years, strong communication, and a passion for solving complex problems with modern tooling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years C++ programming experience.
  • 3+ years Python programming experience.
  • 1-2 years Linux software development (Red Hat or SUSE).
  • Experience with CI tools like Jenkins, GitLab or Bitbucket.
  • Interest in airborne systems software and aircraft sensors is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, integrate, support, and debug software across multiple platforms.
  • Own and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines, ensuring fast, reliable builds.
  • Champion virtual development labs and aircraft‑software workflows.

Software Integration Engineer Sr, driving the full technology development lifecycle—from system and software design to collaboration, automation tooling, infrastructure upgrades, and seamless software integration. You'll work across a diverse set of host environments, including aircraft software, high‑fidelity simulators, and lab setups that blend constructive simulations, physical hardware, and system‑level models.

Your Core Responsibilities:
  • Develop, integrate, support, and debug cutting‑edge software across multiple platforms.
  • Own and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines, ensuring builds are fast, reliable, and reproducible.
  • Champion virtual development labs and aircraft‑software workflows, keeping them nimble and user‑friendly.
  • Design and build automation frameworks using a mix of open‑source, commercial, and in‑house tools—letting you experiment with the latest technologies.
  • Engage daily in scrums, sprint reviews, and technical demos, sharing progress and learning with the team.

Basic Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college/university in a STEM discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience programming in C++ and/or Java
  • Experience developing software on Linux
  • Experience with simulation software environments
Desired skills :
  • Experience with CI tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Bitbucket
  • Experience with Real‑time software development and integration
  • Experience programming in Python
  • A strong interest in supporting software development for airborne systems
  • Experience with aircraft sensors, datalinks, navigation, and/or weapons
  • Experience with Open Mission Systems
  • Experience leading software projects
Required experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a STEM discipline
  • 3+ years of Experience programming in C++
  • 3+ years of Experience programming in Python
  • 1-2 years of Experience developing software on Linux (RedHat or SUSE12)
