GrayHair Software, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer with strong Java 17+ and Spring Boot experience to modernize legacy apps and build scalable features on AWS. The role also requires React-based frontend work and a focus on code quality with comprehensive tests.

You will collaborate in a remote, camera-on culture, participate in 3-week sprints, and drive innovation across cloud-native solutions for enterprise clients.

Qualifications

• Mastery of Java 17 and Maven.
• Proficiency in Spring and Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in React (Effector/ReactRX, Material UI, Jest).
• Proficiency with AWS: EC2, Lambda, S3, ECS, SNS, SQS, CloudWatch, API Gateway, RDS/Aurora.
• Proficiency with SQL (MS SQL Server, Postgres).
• JUnit testing proficiency.
• Git and GitHub Actions proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Re-architect and modernize legacy applications with Java 17+ and Spring Boot microservices.
• Design, build, and deploy end-to-end features on AWS cloud-native apps.
• Write clean, testable code with unit and integration tests (JUnit, Jest).
• Participate in 3-week sprints, refinement, code reviews, and documentation.

We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong technical expertise in Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and React to join our team. In this role, you will focus on re-architecting legacy applications with modern tech stacks and building innovative new features that scale with our client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Re-architect & Modernize: Redesign and refactor legacy applications using Java 17+, Spring Boot microservices, and modern React patterns.
• Feature Development: Design, build, and deploy new end-to-end features for high-throughput, cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Code Quality & Testing: Write clean, maintainable code backed by comprehensive unit and integration tests (JUnit, Jest).
• Process & Discipline: Actively participate in 3-week sprint cycles, pre-sprint refinement sessions, peer code reviews, and technical documentation.
• Drive Innovation: Continuously research emerging tools and architectural trends to improve system performance, resilience, and maintainability.
  

Proficiency Levels:

Familiarity - You have at least seen the technology and possibly written a few small programs utilizing the technology.

Proficiency - Able to use the technology with little to no special training and should be very comfortable with the technology based on past experience.

Mastery - Adept with all the advanced features of the technology and would be a good candidate to mentor those with less experience.
