Job summary

CommerceIQ in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Software Development Engineer for our Bay team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work alongside senior engineers, product managers, and data scientists to design, build, and deliver AI-powered commerce solutions.

You’ll work onsite Monday-Friday, gaining experience with AI development in a real-world production environment and contributing to high-impact products that affect global brands.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of hands-on software engineering experience (internships and co-op work considered).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a highly ranked university.
• Proficiency in Java or Python.
• Experience with AI tools such as Claude and knowledge of RAG.
• Experience building backend or full-stack applications.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure), and CI/CD best practices.

• Collaborate across functions to build on a variety of use cases across the company.
• Partner with executives to get a full perspective from the Founders and CEO’s desk.
• Grow technical skills through design reviews, code quality, testing, security, and scalability.
• Deliver features that are quickly adopted by customers and directly improve their ecommerce performance.

• Collaborate across functions: Build on a variety of use cases across the company

• Grow technical skills: Participate in design reviews, write high-quality code, and gain experience with best practices in testing, security, and scalability

What You'll Bring

• 0-2 years of hands-on software engineering experience (internships and co-op work will be considered
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a highly ranked university is a must have Proficiency in Java or Python
• Experience working with AI tools such as Claude and has good knowledge in skills such as RAG
• Some experience building backend or full-stack applications, either in professional settings or personal projects (we especially love to see any contributions that you have on Github or Stack overflow.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure), microservices, and modern development practices like CI/CD is helpful
• Strong problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn, and comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
