Job summary

Zions Bancorporation’s Enterprise Technology and Operations (ETO) team is recruiting a Senior Software Engineer—API to help deliver data and integration services across legacy and modern systems. You will build APIs, collaborate in a cross-functional Agile team, and contribute to enterprise data management.

You should have 4+ years API development experience, familiarity with ACE, Apigee, Spring Boot, and REST-based integrations, and a strong bias for quality documentation, security, and CI/CD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of API development experience.
• Experience with APIs/webservices on ESB and API management platforms (ACE and Apigee Edge a plus).
• Strong knowledge of REST, JSON, SOAP, XML, Java, Python, JavaScript and API security policies.

Responsibilities

• Develop APIs to meet the organization’s data needs.

Zions is recruiting for the position of Senior Software Engineer—API on the Digital Treasury Engineering & Support team. The Digital Treasury Engineering & Support team creates value for Treasury customers by delivering enterprise data and integration services that provide data, functionality, and processes from legacy and modern systems for others to consume. We expose diverse systems and business capabilities in a standardized way. Zions is headquartered in Salt Lake City, UT. Below are some of the responsibilities of an Integration Platform Engineer.

• Develop APIs to meet the organization’s needs for customer data.
• Work on a cross-functional agile team to deliver customer master data management capabilities to the organization.
• Works closely with the API Solutions Architect and ACE development and support staff, as a major contributor to the success of the system.
• Assist in developing user documentation, specifications, and departmental policies and procedures that impact the use of APIs, Swagger, WSDL, and XSD.
• Automate and set up build pipelines and deployments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Data Science or related field, and a minimum of 4 years’ experience administering and developing customization of platforms, or other directly related experience. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements; the successful candidate will have an ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements and circumstances.
• Experience with development of APIs / webservices on ESB and API management platforms. IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) and Apigee Edge platforms a plus.
• Working on APIGEE platform or any other API orchestration platform
• Worked on Spring Boot Rest API , Handlers , Interceptor and API authentication
• Working knowledge of REST, JSON, SOAP, XML, Python, Java, JavaScript, XSLT, API security policies (OAuth, JWT, JWE, and HMAC), and relational databases.
• Knowledge of software engineering practices and programming languages. Familiarity with Java, SQL, Python, JavaScript.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, build/deploy automation, Git, Azure DevOps and Digital.ai Release / Digital.ai Deploy preferred. Experience with containers is a plus.
• Requires strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Requires solid interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both management and staff employees.
• Ability to elicit, gather and analyze user and business requirements.

This position has a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
