Job summary

Everlaw is seeking a Software Engineer in Michigan to own complex features from idea to release. You will operate with autonomy across the stack, partnering with a product lead and designer to deliver high-quality, maintainable code.

You'll collaborate with Product and Design, ensure reliability across a large-scale platform, and contribute to documentation as you grow your depth in the architecture and product domains. This role values strong code quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience with compiled languages (C++, Java) and scripting languages (Python, JavaScript).
• Delivered software projects through class assignments, personal projects, or internships.
• BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent coursework.
• Authorized to work in United States.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end features across the entire tech stack.

Job description

• Everlaw is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team. This is an amazing opportunity to launch your engineering career, make a real impact on our product and grow your skills with a team that’s committed to your success
• You’ll own complex product features from idea to full release, operating with significant autonomy across our entire tech stack to shape how legal teams uncover truth in vast amounts of data. Rather than being a cog in a massive pipeline or working under strict sprint cycles, you’ll build systems end-to-end alongside a dedicated product lead and designer, focusing on deep code quality and long-term maintainability
• Build new product features end-to-end, taking projects from initial architectural design through implementation and deployment
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Developer Operations to design, build, and launch functionality seamlessly
• Maintain and improve the reliability of our platform by debugging complex issues across a large-scale codebase
• Contribute to system documentation and team knowledge-sharing to keep our codebase easy to navigate and maintain
• Partner with your dedicated onboarding mentor to ramp up quickly on our platform architecture, development practices, and product domains

• You Bring strong strategic thinking and a collaborative approach to solving complex technical problems
• You have a BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent coursework
• You have a strong foundational knowledge of computer science concepts, algorithms, and data structures
• You are authorized to work in the United States
• You are familiar with Linux operating systems and environments
• You have hands‑on experience using Git or a similar version control system
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills
• You have held a campus leadership position or completed a technical research program
