The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be contributing to projects with significant global visibility. In particular, this role supports an initiative with our flagship search engine client , focused on building next-generation infrastructure that powers machine learning pipelines, user data systems, and AI-driven applications.

This is a highly collaborative role that rewards deep technical fluency, a sense of ownership, and the ability to operate in distributed teams across time zones and products.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement distributed backend systems and APIs

• Optimize performance across compute-intensive, high-throughput infrastructure

• Write clean, testable code and contribute to architectural decisions

• Collaborate closely with client engineers, DevOps, and security teams

• Participate in code and design reviews across partner teams

• Lead mentorship and documentation efforts within the engineering organization

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering

• Strong backend development experience in Python, Go, Java, or equivalent

• Experience building and operating distributed systems at scale

• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

• Solid understanding of data modeling, system architecture, and infrastructure-as-code

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in fast-paced environments

Bonus Points

• Experience supporting ML infrastructure or search ranking systems

• Hands-on work with Kubernetes, Docker, or CI/CD tooling

• Contributions to open-source infrastructure or dev tooling projects

• Prior experience at a consultancy, agency, or embedded client team
