TheSoftware Engineerwill play a critical role in developing our autonomous defense systems. You will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizingmission-critical applications, with a focus onreal-time performance, reliability, and security. This role demandstechnical excellence, adaptability, and ownership, as you will work across the full software stack to develop and deployhigh-performance systemsin a fast-paced environment.
Develop, test, and maintainsoftware for autonomous defense platforms, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security.
Design and implementefficient, well-tested codeinC++, Rust, Python, or Cto power real-time systems.
Architectend-to-end software solutions, fromlow-level firmware to high-level mission software.
Work closely withembedded engineers, GNC specialists, and systems engineersto ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
Optimize software for real-time execution, ensuring low-latency operation on embedded platforms and edge computing systems.
Implementsecure coding practices, ensuring software is resilient to cyber threats and meets defense cybersecurity standards.
UtilizeDevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testingto streamline software development and deployment.
Troubleshoot, debug, and refine complex software systems, ensuring they meetmission-critical reliability requirements.
Identifyopportunities for optimizationand proactively propose solutions that enhance system efficiency and performance.
Contribute toagile development processes, effectively communicating risks, blockers, and technical challenges to the broader team.
Proficiency inC++, Rust, Python, or C, with the ability to writeclean, well-tested, and efficient code.
Experience implementing alarge (>10,000 line) project, from architecture to deployment.
Strong understanding ofreal-time software development, embedded systems, and performance optimization.
Ability toexecute in a fast-paced, high-iteration environment, often shipping software multiple times per day.
Strong grasp of thefull software development lifecycle, including design, development, deployment, and support.
Demonstratedextreme ownershipand ability to operateautonomously, driving projects to completion with minimal oversight.
Experience working withlow-level hardware interfacesand optimizing software for real-time applications.
Ability towork on-sitein Huntington Beach, CA.
Significant experience inRust, includingembedded Rustwith Embassy.
Experience developingsoftware for autonomous systems, robotics, or aerospace applications.
Hands-on experience withmicrocontrollers, I²C, or real-time operating systems (RTOS).
Familiarity withsensor fusion, state estimation, or GNC systems.
Experiencemodeling flight vehicle dynamicsin highly integrated cross-disciplinary simulations.
Strong background infirmware development and testingfor embedded systems.

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offers may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and training, critical skills, and business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in most offers and are considered part of Mach’s total compensation package.
