Job summary

AGCO is seeking a Software Engineer to design and build high‑quality software for distributed systems in our Jackson, MN campus. You will contribute to real‑time, high‑performance solutions for agricultural machinery and collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile environment.

The role emphasizes mechatronics awareness, model‑based design, and modern software practices, with opportunities to influence vehicle communication and autonomous capabilities on our products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Lean-Agile mindset and diverse teamwork experience.
• Experience in a collaborative software environment.
• Mechatronic systems awareness (actuators and sensors).
• Knowledge of vehicle communication systems (CAN, Ethernet, LIN) and Vector tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape).
• System engineering experience, object oriented programming, model based design, controls system theory.
• Experience with agricultural machinery.
• GitHub familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design software solutions for distributed, computing systems including real-time and high-performance processors.
• Work in an Agile environment with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, developers and testers to grasp new requirements and milestones.
• Design semi-autonomous products which aid in agricultural operations.
• Authoring requirements for software components.
• Continuously integrate and deploy software to test vehicles.

The Software Engineering department at AGCO focuses on delivering high‑tech, innovative solutions that enhance the intelligence, reliability, and performance of agricultural machinery, supporting farmers with advanced digital and automation capabilities.

Your Impact:

• Design software solutions for distributed, computing systems including realtime and high-performance processors.

Your Compensation:

This position will pay within the range of $80k - 95k,based on experience.This position is eligible for a bonus based on8%of compensation.

Your Workplace:

This role follows AGCO’s on‑site work model, with employees primarily working from an Jackson, USA location a minimum of 5 days per week to support collaboration and teamwork.
