Job summary

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career- and customer-oriented Software Engineer to join our team in Crane, IN. This onsite role requires deep experience in C++, real-time embedded systems, and Linux, supporting DoD-focused projects.

Responsibilities include analyzing architectures, implementing software enhancements, and researching applications for military systems. Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or a Bachelor’s degree with the same curriculum focus and 11+ years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree with 14+ years of relevant experience in lieu of Masters degree.
• 8+ years of professional experience relevant to software engineering functional responsibilities
• 5+ years of professional experience using C++
• Experience with real-time embedded systems programming and Linux

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of computer science concepts and techniques, mathematics, and methods of statistical analysis to develop and apply automated solutions to resolve engineering and scientific problems.
• Use mathematical, statistical, and scientific logic to identify conceptual or theoretical solutions to problems of data processing hardware or software systems design and operations.
• Analyze and formulate architectural and functional specifications, interfaces, and data structures.
• Research applications for hardware, software, and operating systems related to military systems.
• Write, modify, and adapt computer programs in machine level, assembly, and third or fourth generation programming languages
• Investigate and implement software-based enhancements to improve performance of position estimation systems

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related Technical degree, or a Bachelor's degree with the same or similar curriculum focus and 11+ years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree and 14+ years of relevant experience in lieu of Masters degree

• 8+ years of professional experience relevant to software engineering functional responsibilities

• 5+ years of professional experience using C++

• Experience with real-time embedded systems programming and Linux

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of digital signal processing and/or navigation system operations

• Experience with Applied Research, algorithm development/implementation, non-linear algebra

• Background in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering

Clearance Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain an active United States Government Secret security clearance.

• Candidate will be required to obtain an interim Secret clearance before onboarding

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time

• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer

• Move about freely in an office / laboratory setting
