Job summary

Summit TRC is seeking a Software Engineer to build and deploy software supporting UAS products in Huntsville, AL. The role requires US citizenship with a Secret or higher security clearance and a strong foundation in software deployment and OO design.

You will develop across the full lifecycle, design modular architectures, implement APIs and hardware interfaces, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust applications. Documentation and rigorous testing are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• Active security clearance.
• Experience building and integrating software in C# or Java.
• Background in object-oriented programming.
• Backend software development experience.
• Experience writing/unit/integration/end-to-end tests.
• Experience with deployment techniques and GitLab.
• Strong OS knowledge (Windows, Linux) and CLI.
• Ability to identify and solve complex software problems.

Responsibilities

• Develop software across the full SDLC using languages like C#.
• Design modular, OO architectures and interfaces, APIs and hardware layers.
• Analyze requirements and assess feasibility within time/resources.
• Deploy, integrate, and support applications in test/operating environments.
• Advise and support software maintenance including bugs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on integration/testing.
• Prepare technical docs, test reports and other deliverables.

Summit TRC is seeking to add a Software Engineer to our team. This role will be focused on building and deploying software to enable new capabilities on UAS products. The right engineer will have a strong foundation building, deploying, and optimizing applications and have a solid understanding of software design principles. If you have relevant experience and you are motivated to solve novel software problems in Defense,

Responsibilities:

• Develop software across the entire software development life cycle using languages such as C# to satisfy customer requirements
• Design and implement modular, object-oriented software architectures and associated interfaces, including APIs and hardware-integrated communication layers
• Analyze software requirements to assess design feasibility within time and resource limits
• Deploy, integrate, and support existing applications within necessary test and operating environments
• Advise and support software maintenance (e.g., bugs)
• Participate in integration and testing of systems through collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Prepare technical documentation, test reports, or other required deliverables
