ISO New England is the independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. We are at the forefront of New England’s ongoing transition to clean energy.

We are seeking a highly skilled IT professional to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in application development, systems integration, and infrastructure automation, along with a practical understanding of MLOps concepts.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust IT solutions, including databases, cloud infrastructure, and custom applications, which support our business objectives. You will also play a role in operationalizing analytical and machine learning workloads, collaborating with data science and business teams to integrate models into production environments. In doing so, you will work regularly with project stakeholders to establish and maintain product backlogs and iteratively deliver working solutions.

How you will make an impact:

  • Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to productionalize analytical and ML models
  • Develop and operationalize critical business systems, primarily implemented in Python (including other scripting languages)
  • Support the integration and deployment of analytical and machine learning models into IT-supported applications
  • Ensure smooth integration of IT systems and services, both on-prem and AWS
  • Manage and deploy applications on AWS, utilizing services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, SageMaker, ideally with build and hosting technologies such as Terraform, Packer, and containerization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage infrastructure performance and scalability

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related STEM major
  • 5+ years of software and systems development experience using multiple programming languages (i.e. Python, R, SQL, Matlab, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience supporting or integrating machine learning workflows or model
  • Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork abilities
  • Solid understanding of AWS services and cloud architecture
  • Strong organizational and project management skills (including ability to work on multiple and concurrent projects)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
