Job summary

AMETEK PDS is seeking an energetic software engineer to design and implement embedded software for high‑reliability aircraft power distribution systems. You will write C/C++ and Embedded C, test and debug code, and collaborate with hardware teams to ensure robust performance.

AMETEK PDS is seeking an energetic, innovative, software engineer to join our exceptional and growing engineering team. We design advanced, high-reliability, aircraft power distribution systems. Key Requirements

• Develops software and firmware source code in C/C++, Embedded C, and other languages.
• Designs, develops, documents, tests, debugs, and implements embedded software and systems.
• Technical knowledge of common communication interfaces like SPI, I2C, USB, UART, and others.
• Utilizes version control, simulation, debugging, and other development tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to read electronic schematics.
• Positive, can-do attitude.
• Great communication, teamwork and documentation skills.
• Collaborates cross functionally with hardware engineers.
• Provides engineering support for testing, deployment, and updates.

Additional Preferred Skills/experience

• Airborne software development experience using DO-178C.
• Requirements capture using DOORS.
• Experience developing support applications using C/C++, or C# .NET with Visual Studio.
• Microsoft Excel development experience using VBA.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in Computer Engineering, BS in Computer Science or BS in Electrical Engineering or a combination of education and work experience.
• 5-7 years of Embedded Systems or Windows programming experience.
