Job Summary
Our client, a major U.S. Airline, is looking for a Software Engineer to join their technical engineering organization.This engineer will write and deliver production code while also coaching junior engineers, digging into root cause on systemic issues, and shaping architecture decisions across teams. Looking for someone with deep, hands-on Java, Kafka, and MongoDB experience, not just passing exposure, plus multi-cloud work across Azure and IBM specifically.

Core Responsibilities
- Write, testand document technical work according to org standards
- Solve technical problems and build components with broad, cross-team impact
- Coach junior engineers on technical craftsmanship
- Lead root cause analysis on systemic issues and drive fixes
- Design systems that let teams across product domains deliver with speed, scale, and reliability
- Manage and reduce technical debt in existing implementations
- Get ahead of scaling, latency, and durability issues and guide mitigation
- Partner with security early in the lifecycle of new systems
- Weigh in on technical risk and push practical prevention strategies
- Recommend and drive improvements to squad delivery practices
- Spot and cut down duplicated effort across teams
- Prototype emerging tech with little guidance and fold it into architecture where it fits
Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering, or related field, plus 5 years experience
- 5+ years Java
- 3+ years Kafka
- 3+ years MongoDB
- 3+ years multi-cloud experience including Azure and IBM
- Solid grounding in OOAD, UML, TDD, Java Design Patterns, Enterprise Integration Design Patterns
- Disaster Recovery design and development experience
- Comfortable in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and XP environments
Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
- Experience mentoring or informally leading junior engineers
- Exposure to security-conscious system design
- Track record prototyping emerging tech and getting it into production

Compensation &Benefits
- Pay Range:The approximate pay range for this position is between$39.00and $56.00 per hour.Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. Wecomply withlocal wage minimums.
