Job description

Job Title: Software Engineer (Hybrid Schedule)

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join a team that builds and evolves a cloud-based forms platform powering the collection, management, workflow, approval routing, and reporting of business-critical data across a large cloud ecosystem. In this role, you design, develop, and deliver large-scale software initiatives with a high degree of independence, taking projects from initial concept through production deployment. You collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX designers, QA engineers, and developers across a globally distributed team, and you play a key role in integrating emerging AI capabilities into the platform.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend features using C# and .NET/.NET Core for a cloud-based forms platform.
  • Build and support RESTful APIs and cloud services that enable data movement between desktop and cloud applications.
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL data models and queries to ensure reliable and performant data handling.
  • Work with both SQL and CosmosDB environments, including NoSQL data structures, to support diverse application needs.
  • Gather and refine requirements from Product Managers and other stakeholders to understand business objectives and constraints.
  • Collaborate with UX teams to design solutions that align technical implementation with user experience goals.
  • Translate business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions and implementation plans.
  • Own complex technical initiatives end-to-end, driving projects from concept through development, testing, and production deployment.
  • Make and justify technical decisions, ensuring architectural integrity, performance, and maintainability of the platform.
  • Enhance and extend the cloud-based forms service that supports workflows, approvals, permissions, audit requirements, and reporting.
  • Integrate services across multiple cloud applications to create seamless workflows and data flows within the ecosystem.
  • Support and improve workflow automation, approval routing, and reporting functionality within the forms platform.
  • Participate in AI-related product initiatives, contributing to the design and integration of AI-driven features and capabilities.
  • Work effectively in an Agile/Scrum environment, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate across distributed engineering teams located in multiple geographic regions to deliver cohesive solutions.
  • Partner closely with QA and Product teams throughout the development lifecycle to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Contribute to reporting and analytics capabilities on collected data, helping stakeholders gain insights from the platform.
  • Support foundational platform responsibilities, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security of core services.
Essential Skills
  • Strong, hands-on software development experience in C#, typically with 4–6+ years of professional experience.
  • Proficiency with .NET and .NET Core for building backend services and applications.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
  • Experience building cloud applications or cloud services, with an understanding of distributed systems concepts.
  • Solid grasp of object-oriented design principles and ability to apply them to complex systems.
  • Proven experience independently owning large technical initiatives from requirements gathering through deployment.
  • Ability to take projects from concept and requirements through design, implementation, testing, and production release.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive work forward with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability, with a track record of diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Comfort collaborating with Product Management, UX, QA, and Engineering teams in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience working effectively in a team environment, contributing to shared goals and codebases.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with CosmosDB, including designing and working with NoSQL data models.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript and exposure to front-end development, enabling collaboration across the stack.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services and tooling for building and operating cloud-based solutions.
  • DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, participating in iterative development cycles.
  • Hands-on experience developing AI-enabled features within software products.
  • Experience integrating AI capabilities into production software, including shipping AI-related functionality.
  • Practical use of AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools to accelerate development.
  • Interest in and understanding of AI as a strategic priority, with motivation to help shape AI-driven product initiatives.
Work Environment

You join a collaborative, globally distributed team composed of software developers, a UX lead, a QA engineer, and a Product Manager located across Pennsylvania, Huntsville, Alabama, and Brazil. The team works in an Agile/Scrum environment with regular ceremonies, code reviews, and close cross-functional collaboration. This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in the office in Exton, the Philadelphia area, or Huntsville, Alabama, with the remaining time available for remote work. You primarily focus on backend development using C#, .NET/.NET Core, SQL, and CosmosDB, while also engaging with cloud services, REST APIs, and AI-related tooling.
