Job summary

Castalia Systems in Colorado is seeking a Software Engineer to support an onsite client with mission critical satellite ground systems and to develop robust Java applications in an Agile team.

Candidates must be a US citizen with a transferable Top Secret/TSSCI clearance and a STEM degree with 5 years of experience; strong Java and multi-threading skills, plus familiarity with DevOps practices, are preferred.

Roles and Responsibilities

• A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities but are not limited to Develop software for cutting edge satellite ground systemsWork with a team of engineers architects and leaders in an Agile environment

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelors degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics STEM and 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local lawsregulations
• Experience designing and developing object oriented software using Java
• Experience with Java multi threading
• An active and transferable US government issued TSSCI security clearance is required prior to start date
• An active and transferable US government issued Top Secret security clearance that can be crossed over to a TSSCI security clearance is also acceptable
• US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing satellite planning and scheduling software
• Software development lifecycle experience using the SAFe Agile methodology
• Experience developing software using C and Python
• Experience with microservices in an AWS environment using Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with Test Automation DevSecOps and CICD processes
• Experience with tools such as Confluence Eclipse Jira Jenkins Junit Kafka and Spring Boot
