Job summary

Mesirow Currency is hiring a Software Engineer to help develop our proprietary systems used in portfolio management and trading. You will work with experienced engineers and business stakeholders to own features, build reliable production apps, and advance CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Required background includes a CS/engineering degree, C# and API design, plus React experience. Strong ownership, communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• Experience in application development and testing in C# or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React.
• Experience in designing and building APIs.
• Relational databases knowledge.
• Observability: monitoring, logging, alerting.
• DevOps: Git-based workflows and CI/CD.
• Strong ownership, problem-solving and multi-priority management.
• Strong communication and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Mesirow Currency is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to help develop our proprietary systems. You will work alongside experienced engineers and business stakeholders, taking ownership of well-scoped features while building your knowledge of our systems and the currency-management business.

Responsibilities:

• Own delivery of features and enhancements to our portfolio management and trading systems while also solving for changing business needs
• Develop and maintain reliable, performant production applications, with attention to correctness and maintainability
• Participate in an agile team dynamic; own testing through test automation, drive DevOps capabilities and CI/CD across environments.
• Leverage authorized AI tools to improve SDLC velocity and increase system reliability.
• Contribute to code reviews, refactoring, and improvements informed by testing, performance measurements, and production feedback
• Investigate and resolve application issues, collaborating with other engineers on complex problems

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in application development and testing in C# or equivalent
• Hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React
• Experience in designing and building APIs
• Solid understanding of relational databases
• Knowledge of observability; monitoring, logging, and alerting
• DevOps experience, Git-based workflows and CI/CD
• Self-starter with strong ownership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical solutions and work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have:

• Experience in the Financial Services industry
• Solid understanding of the .NET stack
• Experience working in an Azure environment

In accordance with the Illinois Pay Transparency Law, the anticipated hiring base salary for the role will be between $110,000 and $150,000 per year. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, also provides the opportunity for a performance based bonus and the Mesirow benefit program .
