Job summary

NewGen Technologies seeks a Software Engineering Lead to serve as the POC for oversight of all full-stack development across Sponsor platforms currently in production. You will guide technical directions, manage end-to-end delivery, and ensure alignment with customer needs.

You will apply Agile practices, translate requirements into design, and drive SPA development with Angular 21+ while hands-on coding with Java/Scala and related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as single point of contact to Sponsor for full-stack development oversight.
• Lead technical project management across the full software development lifecycle.
• Estimate and manage software development schedules and deliverables.
• Work in an Agile development environment.
• Translate customer and system requirements into design.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in program meetings and reviews.
• Develop SPAs using HTML5, CSS3, and Angular 21+.
• Hands-on development of applications and RESTful services with Java, Scala, Spring Framework, Spring Boot.
• Work with non-relational DB like DynamoDB; other DBs accepted.
• Work with Tomcat, Node.js, Web Services, SSL; testing with JUnit/Jasmine; Jest/Karma.
• Use DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Nexus.

Job description

Act as a Software Engineering Lead who serves as a POC to the Sponsor regarding oversight of all full-stack software development across Sponsor platforms and applications currently deployed to production within scope.

Requirements

• TS/SCI FSP Clearance
• Demonstrated experience in technical project management with full lifecycle software development
• Demonstrated experience estimating and managing software development schedules and deliverables
• Demonstrated experience working in an Agile development environment
• Demonstrated experience developing detailed software design and associated deliverables
• Demonstrated experience in translating customer and system requirements into design
• Demonstrated experience designing new system interfaces
• Demonstrated experience coordinating, supporting, and participating in program meetings and reviews
• Demonstrated experience developing Single Page Applications using HTML5, CSS3, and Angular 21+
• Demonstrated hands-on experience developing Applications and RESTful web services using the following technologies or something similar: Solr, Elastic, Postgres, Java, Scala, RDS, Spring Framework, Spring Security, and Spring Boot
• Demonstrated hands-on experience working with non-relational database systems such as DynamoDB (other on-the-job database experience accepted)
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with and troubleshooting of Internet/Web related protocols and technologies (e.g. Tomcat, Nodejs, Web Services, and SSL)
• Demonstrated hands-on experience developing JUnit and Jasmine tests and experience with testing platforms such as Jest or Karma
• Demonstrated hands-on experience working with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Nexus

Desired Skills

• Demonstrated recent experience with the Sponsor's suite of applications providing repository and search services that enables Sponsor to find the information they need
• Demonstrated hands-on experience developing user interfaces using Angular Material
• Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, Lean Agile environment
• Demonstrated recent experience with Sponsor’s profile and alerting services that represents a "prospective search" tool that sifts through incoming stream looking for items that match a user’s profile and alerts upon match
• Demonstrated recent experience with the Sponsor’s discovery and recommendation services that allows a user to discover data they wouldn’t ordinarily know about and represents an information filtering system that leverages content-based approaches to discriminate between interesting and uninteresting items for a user
• Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor’s Pre-NLP processing pipeline to remove boilerplate text, portion marks and non-narrative content
• Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor’s federated search service that allows users to federate searches across external data systems
• Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor’s tagging and folder services and applications that allow users to curate and organize documents
• Demonstrated experience with Sponsor IT systems, missions, and strategies
• Demonstrated experience communicating with senior customers, senior management, and implementation partners
• Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining JIRA tickets
• Demonstrated experience with AWS and Azure cloud services
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining constructive relationships among customers, stakeholders, technical teams, and contractors
