Job summary

Avalore, LLC seeks a senior Full Stack Developer to support a backend team building middleware and backend services for a US Government client. The role requires an active security clearance with polygraph and a CS degree or equivalent, with strong Solr/Elasticsearch and Java backend expertise.

Candidates should have 3+ years in big data environments (Hadoop, Pyspark, Spark, HBase) and 5+ years of hands-on Java development. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

Job description

Avalore is seeking a full stack developer supporting a backend development team focused on middleware and backend services for our US Government client.

• Active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph
• College degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree
• Intermediate to Expert level experience in Solr or Elastic Search (minimum 3 years)
• Performing schema updates
• Possessing significant knowledge & experience in submitting Lucene queries
• Possessing significant knowledge & experience on how Solr/Elastic shards work
• Possessing significant experience tuning Solr/Elastic for performance and query optimization
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a big data environment using tools such as Hadoop, Pyspark, Spark, and Hbase (prefer at least two of the list)
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on, back-end Java development experience (not Javascript or Springboot) implementing code that undergoes code reviews, unit testing, integration testing and deployed to a production environment

Desired:

• Demonstrated experience working with several AWS services.
• Demonstrated experience with JIRA and GITHUB.

Work Environment:

• Moderate noise (i.e.business office with computers,phoneand printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).

• Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
