Job summary

Bluematrix is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to help scale our microservices and client-facing components. You will work with a modern stack and a culture of collaborative learning.

You’ll develop production-grade REST APIs, optimize database performance, mentor junior developers, and engage in on-call support while supporting compliance efforts across regional markets.

Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years of working experience on a development team.
• Proficient in Java while comfortable with adopting new technologies.
• Experience delivering reliable, high-performance REST APIs.
• Strong interest in database & query performance tuning.
• Experience with Snowflake.
• Good understanding of scrum/agile development methodologies.
• Experienced with code reviews, service ownership, fully automated testing, micro-services, and rapid/continuous releases.
• Experience working with AWS or equivalent.
• Comfortable with being on-call for support and interacting directly with clients if needed
• Experience mentoring junior developers.

Our system is composed of a retreating monolith surrounded by a growing collection of micro-services. Within this system, you and the dev team will be responsible for building and maintaining client-facing components. The current tech stack consists of experience with modern frontend frameworks like Vue or React. If you’re hungry to learn, humble, and interested in winning as a team, we think you’ll do well here. What’s most important is that you love your work, respect the team and don’t lose your sense of humor along the way.
