What You Will Do:
- Define a clear, forward-looking software development vision the Interiors aligned with broader enterprise initiatives.
- Assess current tools, processes, and practices across multiple software groups and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and best practices.
- Develop a multi-year transformation roadmap to standardize and modernize software development practices across product lines.
- Lead the migration from legacy build environments to the preferred toolchain.
- Plan migrations and upgrades in a way that minimizes disruption to active programs and supports parallel operation where necessary.
- Collaborate with Software Quality Assurance and Certification/DER/ODA teams to ensure that new processes, tools, and practices are acceptable means of compliance with DO-178B/DO-178C, and that necessary plans, standards, and life cycle data are updated accordingly.
- Metrics, Business Continuity & Continuous Improvement
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between Interiors software teams and corporate engineering/IT initiatives related to DevSecOps, tooling, and methods.
- Support capability development of the software engineers
- Support training, documentation, and onboarding materials to enable sustainable adoption of new methods and toolchains, while maintaining current productivity, quality, and certifiability.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-team or cross-organizational process/tool transformations, including SCM and CI/CD migrations, while maintaining delivery and cost commitments.
- Hands‑on experience with Git-based workflows and common DevOps toolchains (e.g., GitLab or similar, artifact repositories such as Artifactory, CI/CD pipelines, test automation frameworks).
- Proven ability to influence and lead without direct line authority in a complex, multi-site or multi-business environment.
- Strong communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts and metrics into business impact (schedule, cost, quality, risk).
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical devices, or other safety-/mission-critical or highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with standards and practices relevant to aerospace software, particularly DO-178B/DO-178C (Level D and Level E), and experience integrating modern methods and tools within those frameworks.
- Experience with model-based design/model-based systems engineering (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, SysML, or similar) in a certifiable context.
- Background in leading adoption of secure development practices and integrating security into the software lifecycle.
- Prior experience harmonizing tools and processes across acquired organizations or fragmented teams.
