AMD is seeking a Software Development Test Engineer Lead for AI Platform, PCIE, and Optical to drive performance improvements across critical applications and benchmarks. You will join a core team working with the latest hardware and software, leveraging data-driven approaches to optimize architectures and algorithms.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, excellent communication, and a track record of guiding multi-disciplinary teams through complex ASIC and hardware bring-up activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree required in CS/CE/EE or equivalent.
• Proven leadership and collaboration across hardware, firmware, and software teams.
• Experience debugging complex system-level issues spanning hardware, firmware, and software.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TEST ENGINEER LEAD AI Platform, PCIE, Optical

THE ROLE

AMD is looking for an influential software engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks . You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with AMD's architecture specialists to improve future products
• Apply a data minded approach to target optimization efforts
• Stay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially pertaining to algorithms and architecture
• Design and develop new groundbreaking AMD technologies
• Participating in new ASIC and hardware bring ups
• Debugging/fix existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work
• Develop technical relationships with peers and partners

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Lead and execute optical transceiver validation activities, including functionality, interoperability, performance, reliability, and compliance testing across multiple platform configurations.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of PCIe architecture , link training, device discovery, and PCIe enumeration mechanisms for system-level validation and debugging.
• Experience with PCIe virtualization technologies , including SR-IOV (Single Root I/O Virtualization) , is highly desirable.
• Drive platform bring-up, validation, and issue resolution by working closely with hardware, firmware, and software development teams.
• Ability to technically lead a small validation/platform team , define priorities and mentor engineers.
• Proven experience collaborating effectively with remote and geographically distributed teams across multiple time zones, ensuring timely communication and delivery of project milestones.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex system-level issues spanning hardware, firmware, and software components.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
