Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC seeks a Software Development Manager to lead the VIRSAT team, building and owning the merlins and automation framework for a custom ASIC in a LEO system.

You will hire, coach, and guide SDEs, maintain OS drivers, IPC, telemetry, and dashboards, and drive architecture decisions balancing performance and reliability in space-grade embedded software.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience.
  • 1+ years of providing technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle experience.
  • 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using Java, C#, or C++ experience.
  • 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using service-oriented architecture experience.
  • 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using distributed programming experience.
  • 5+ years of Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupational experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

We are seeking a Software Development Manager to lead the team responsible for building and owning the VIRSAT infrastructure for merlins and automation framework. This role sits at the intersection of people leadership, automation, data analytics, and MAC domain expertise, OS domain expertise, with the goal of democratizing OS features on embedded system. As the SDM for this team, you will hire, develop, and lead a team of SDEs building the KMM system and VIRSAT for a custom ASIC in LEO system. You will maintain the OS drivers, IPC, telemetry, dashboards from the custom ASIC.
