Amazon Security Experiences (ASE) seeks a Software Development Manager to lead a two-pizza team building agentic security automation experiences for builders and security engineers across Amazon. You will own design and delivery of systems that help developers find and fix security issues as they code, accelerating secure software at scale.
You will hire and mentor engineers, guide architecture, and partner with product teams to drive end-to-end delivery.
Job ID: 10591740 | Amazon.com Services LLC
Security should move at the speed of the builder, not the other way around. The Security Automation team is looking for a Software Development Manager to build and lead a team that brings agentic and automation experiences to the hundreds of thousands of builders and security engineers who ship software at Amazon. The experiences you own help builders find and fix security issues as they write code, and help security engineers do their highest judgment work instead of repetitive manual steps. Your work is used across Amazon to help teams ship software securely at the speed and scale of the world’s largest startup.
You will join an established organization and own the design and delivery of agentic experiences such as in context security guidance, automated and candidate fixes, and self service workflows that let builders resolve issues without leaving their tools. You will hire and lead a full two pizza team of Software Development Engineers and set your team’s technical direction in service of a broader automation and agentic vision.
This is a mix of building new systems and extending existing ones. You will measure success by how much you compress the time from idea to securely deployed in production, so that security becomes an accelerant for builders rather than a checkpoint they wait on.
You lead a team that treats security automation as a product. You review designs for new agentic experiences, coach your engineers through hard technical tradeoffs, and work with security engineers and builders to make sure what you ship removes friction rather than adding it. You keep the team focused on the north star: every manual step you eliminate is time a builder gets back and risk that is resolved earlier.
You identify areas where new best practices and workflows are needed and develop them. You prioritize and delegate work while clearing roadblocks to success, delegating as necessary while maintaining ownership.
Amazon Security Experiences (ASE) helps Amazon’s builders ship software securely. Our team, Security Automation, builds the automation and agentic experiences that bring this directly to builders and security engineers, so that securing software becomes continuous and increasingly automated. We are early, we are ambitious, and we are reinventing how one of the world’s largest software organizations ships securely.
