Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Herndon, VA is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead the S3 Fleet Management team and drive the next generation of cloud-based automation services. You will mentor engineers, own roadmaps, and partner with internal customers to deliver high-value software at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams
• 3+ years designing or architecting scalable systems
• 8+ years leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
• Knowledge of the full software/hardware/networks life cycle, including coding standards, reviews, source control, builds, testing and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of software engineers

• Partner with internal customers to understand requirements, set priorities and communicate direction and progress
